Well, I'm back, and I've submitted a few old works to prints. Check them out if you have some time, and be sure to check back in a few weeks - I've been painting and shooting and so on, and I'm relatively pleased with what I've come up with. As soon as I get some good shots, there'll be prints & canvas a go-go.

Yep - I'm back again! This is what I guess is now pretty much confirmed as a recurring theme for me - get onto DA for a few months, and then gradually slip off, only to reappear a couple of months later.

So - thanks to everyone who's been messaging me, fav'd some of my work, or otherwise tried to interact with my empty shell of a DA existence. It's what keeps me coming back instead of just closing the account.

I'll get some new stuff up soon - I've got a bit of a project happening at the moment which can be found at: [link] and I plan to get some more serious writing completed in the not too distant future.

I'd also like to congratulate ~logey for getting a book together and published! Congratulations! Everyone should go and buy it - [link]

I've been on dA a little while now. My 'art' is pretty terrible, but I've found it a really good community to associate with, and have come into contact with a lot of people and groups that I admire and respect. Hell, I still even submit stuff here, and I think in huge thanks to the dA community, the stuff I submit, while still pretty shit, has improved.

But over time, I've dropped in and out of dA. I've at times been disgusted with the censorship that occurs here, and have watched several friends get banned, and then get banned again, and not for doing something pointless, but for doing exactly what so many of us do; throw our thoughts, feelings, and heart on the table for the anonymous arm of the net whose comments we heed, to judge, and to provide input. To validate what we might think is worthless. I have never stood by these bans, and will never do so. I do not like the fact that dA has been getting more and more commercial with every one of my reappearances; it drives artists who write or submit controversial topics either away, or towards self censorship in case of being slapped about by an admin. It never used to be like that.

The icing on the cake however, has been what's just happened to Jark. I think it's a symptom of what's been going on in the background for a long time, and I think it's about time we saw an end to this sort of bullshit. Although, we have no control over this given that unlike Angelo, we have no ownership of this site.

But we do have some power, and I urge all dA artists who give a shit about the community and wish it to remain, to partipate in the August 7 protest of only posting yellow of Jark related submissions, and making Angelo know he's not particularly welcome. In addition to this, I think that we must support the staff such as matteo in setting up an alternative to dA; dA as it was intended, and to encourage other staff to follow in these footsteps.

When this becomes an all user pay site, as it most definately shouldn't, then I'll be gone, and so will a lot of artists who are actually worth looking at. The community will be gone, and those who are left will have to endure the ongoing commercialisation of the site. That might be fine to some users, but to me, it sucks the essence of what dA is all about.

Staff! I emplore you to overthrow Angelo, or to create an alternative while it's still possible!

By the way, the new Harry Potter book is quite good.
